The local liaison is likely the person responsible for introducing the clinic to LYNX. This local representative will routinely be a commissioned agent for one or several orthopedic manufacturers. While your clinic probably has relationships with a variety of manufacturers and their local agents, the person who introduced you to LYNX will hopefully become an even more trusted ally and resource for your clinic.

 

While it will always be the clinic's choice regarding which manufacturer's products are purchased and stocked, the local LYNX representative will be able to provide more assistance related to the products he/she represents due to their training and knowledge of these specific products. But even for other products, where the agent does not receive a commission from the manufacturer, LYNX provides compensation to the liaison for providing local service and value to the client.

LYNX isn't a typical supplier-driven program. When a clinic uses a manufacturer's program, the manufacturer is focused on getting the clinic to use all of its products, instead of focusing on what the physician deems to be necessary and appropriate products for the patients. IMS tools promoted by the manufacturer are intended to push the clinic to primarily (or exclusively) use the products of one supplier.
